Last weekend, 24-26April, students worked hard representing the school’s Agriculture team at the Hawkesbury Show. Filled with pride and determination, they not only prepared their animals but also showcased their learning to a high standard. Highlights included (but were not limited to): ⭐Best Sheep Exhibit in the Shed – Friday Competition ⭐Champion School Coloured Sheep Exhibitors ⭐Reserve Champion Coloured Sheep – Dingles ⭐Second in the Schools Category for Ewe – Dingles ⭐Ty O – Reserve Champion Sheep Judging (placing in the top two for the second consecutive year) ⭐ Cooper B – Second in Under 15s Fleece Judging (his first time competing), along with many more achievements We were also fortunate to work with Alora Prestige Studs and learn the craft of showing their Valais Blacknose Sheep, an extremely beautiful and rare animal, as well as their Corriedale. We extend our sincere thanks to the stud owners and breeders, David and Alicia Whittaker. Similarly, we were privileged for the continuous supported of Melissa Henry's Quebon Coloured Sheep, as well as the Black & Coloured Sheep Breeders Association of Australia, whose support over a number of years has allowed us to build such a strong understanding of the network. We are incredibly grateful for these industry linkages and mentors, who help ensure our students’ learning extends beyond the classroom and into real-world practice. Also a big thank you to the organisers of the Hawkesbury Show Sheep Section for their tireless work to allow this opportunity to be possible, along with the tireless work of our teachers and support staff, many of whom visited in their own time to show support. 🐄 Year 11 Agriculture Farm Case Study – Learning Beyond the Classroom 🌱 Our Year 11 Agriculture students undertook a hands-on farm case study last term as part of the NSW Stage 6 Agriculture syllabus. As part of this experience, students visited the working dairy at Tocal Agricultural College, where they explored the day-to-day operations of a commercial farm. This immersive visit allowed students to investigate key aspects of farm management, including production systems, sustainability practices, and the role of technology in modern agriculture. It was an udderly valuable learning experience that brought agriculture to life. Through this real-world opportunity, students were able to connect classroom theory with practical application, truly being outstanding in the field. We are proud of the way our students engaged with the experience and represented the College with enthusiasm and curiosity. #AgricultureEducation #HandsOnLearning #FutureFarmers #NSWEducation

On Tuesday 31 March, representatives from Years 9–12 had the privilege of attending the Australian War Memorial Last Post Ceremony. Students not only heard the story of the sacrifice of Captain Henry Haigh Storrer, who chose to undertake his mission knowing it would likely result in certain death due to the conditions, in order to ensure the safety of those under his command. They were also privileged to take part in the acknowledgement of the 105th birthday of the Royal Australian Air Force. The ceremony was attended by over 60 personnel, including Air Marshal Stephen Chappell, the current Chief of Air Force, and former Chief of the Defence Force, Angus Houston. Students also had the opportunity to explore the new galleries, including a preview of a gallery opening to the public on Thursday. These included the Cold War Galleries (1945-91), Critical Witness: exhibition of official war artists after 1999, Anzac Atrium and aircraft hall.
