Holy Saturday is a day of silence and waiting, as we reflect on the time Jesus lay in the tomb. It is a space of hope in darkness, trusting in God’s promises even when they are not yet fulfilled. Pope John Paul II spoke of this waiting as a time of deep faith, where we learn to trust in God’s plan.

Good Friday is a solemn day where we remember Jesus’ suffering and death on the Cross. It reveals the depth of God’s love - a love willing to sacrifice everything for humanity. In the words of Pope John Paul II, the Cross is not the end, but the beginning of hope, showing us that love is stronger than sin and death.

His sacrifice on the cross shows that true love is not self-seeking but is expressed through service, compassion, and a willingness to put others first.

It is a powerful reminder that love is shown through service. Pope John Paul II described the Eucharist as the “source and summit” of Christian life, calling us to become what we receive - Christ for others.

Holy Wednesday is often associated with betrayal, as Judas prepares to hand Jesus over. It invites us to reflect on human weakness, but also on God’s mercy and forgiveness. Pope John Paul II reminded us that no sin is greater than God’s love, and that we are always called back into relationship with Him through repentance.
