Instrument Tutoring Program 2022

Dear Parents/Carers,

The Creative Arts staff at St John Paul II Catholic College would like to invite and inform you about the opportunity for private instrument tutoring for students in Years 7 – 12. The program has run successfully since 2004, offering individual lessons by visiting music specialists on a variety of instruments.

In 2022 lessons on the following instruments are available: piano/keyboard, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, bass guitar, drums/percussion and voice. Interest in any other instrument lessons is most welcome, and we will endeavour to provide teaching staff pending student interest.

All music lessons are conducted during school hours. They occur weekly and last for half an hour, which gives students the opportunity to find out about missed work and homework. The cost for each lesson starts from $30 per half hour.

Ideally, students should have their own instrument at home to practice on, so that the skills learnt during the lesson can be refined and developed.

Fees are paid directly to the individual tutor, and all payments are to be made to the tutor. Fees can be paid in various forms, weekly, monthly or for the full term in advance, but this is to be arranged with individual tutor who may have particular and specific requirements.

In an effort to keep things running smoothly, there are a few requirements of students who decide to take private lessons. These are set out in the Instrument Program Contract which will be forwarded to you via Compass.

If you would like your child to undertake lessons at St John Paul II Catholic College, please complete and submit this form.
