Terra Sancta Maths Assembly

This Term the Mathematics Department held quite a tasty and exciting assembly for Years 7 to 10.

To begin, Hinushi Gangoda spoke about the extension Maths class while Melissa Dunn and Christy Singh spoke about after school maths assistance.

Using Pi in mathematics has always been a challenge - but not for Eric Nassar. Eric recited Pi to an impressive amount of decimal places in front of everyone at the assembly!

Keeping in theme, it was then time for the Pi eating contest! One representative from each house was selected to compete in the contest. The first competitor to finish eating two whole pies WITHOUT USING THEIR HANDS would be the winner!

The Schofields Campus then attempted to make a NEW WORLD RECORD! The world record attempt was for the world’s biggest game of “Scissors, Paper, Rock” - merging probability with a world record. Not only was this so much fun for the students and staff - but Terra Sancta will now be famous!

In the lead up to R U OK? Day, the students and staff also went for another world record - the most amount of people to say “R U OK?”.

As always, the students had a great time and displayed fantastic behaviour throughout the assembly, supporting their house team, listening carefully and participating with enthusiasm. Well done Years 7, 8, 9 and 10!
