Cathwest recently welcomed our Year 10 students for an incredible 'Try a Career' Day! 🛠️🍼🩺 Our students jumped right into the action and represented the college across a range of industries: Automotive: Learning basic car maintenance and racing the clock in tire-changing challenges! 🏎️💨 Childcare: Stepping into the shoes of an educator with painting, reading, and playdough fun 🎨📖 Nursing: Practicing life-saving basics, including CPR and wound care ❤️🩹 A massive thank you to all the students who enthusiastically partook in the day and a special thanks to Ms Chandra & Ms Spence who assisted in making this day such a success for our students 🌟 #Careers #StJPII #TryACareer #HandsOnLearning

CSPD students recognised in Refugee Week Creative Competition
Over 125 students from 10 Catholic Schools Parramatta Diocese (CSPD) schools have been recognised for their empathy and powerful storytelling as part of the Jesuit Refugee Service (JRS) Australia Refugee Week Creative Competition.

Our Earth and Environmental Science students recently stepped outside the classroom and into the field at Longneck Lagoon Environmental Education Centre in Scheyville National Park! 🌿🎒 From surveying transects and observing soil erosion to comparing the unique characteristics of the Cumberland Plain Woodland ecosystem, our students put their practical fieldwork skills to the test. They collected soil and water samples for analysis, used GPS technology to map introduced species and examined human impacts on the environment, all while learning about the rich natural and historical significance of the area 🗺️🧪 It was a fantastic and valuable experience for our Environmental Science students! Vinnies Winter Sleepout ❄️ Last week, our senior students and staff volunteers stepped out of their comfort zones to participate in the Vinnies Community Sleepout. By spending one night "sleeping rough", our students gained a deeper, firsthand understanding of the challenges faced by the homeless and disadvantaged in our wider community. The night provided a powerful opportunity for reflection, allowing our students and staff to focus on gratitude while building on their understanding around Formation for Mission and the Common Good. ✨ Finding Courage: Year 9 Reflection Day ✨ Our Year 9 students recently participated in a meaningful Reflection Day, facilitated by the Youth Ministry Team (YMT). It was a powerful opportunity for them to step away from the busyness of everyday life, deepen their spirituality, and reflect on their relationships with God, themselves, and others. 🚀 Mapping the Future: Western Sydney Careers Expo 🚀 Last Thursday, our Year 11s and a selection of Year 12 students stepped out of the classroom to attend the Western Sydney Careers Expo. It was a powerful day dedicated to vocational discovery and strategic future planning.
