During Learning Enrichment in weeks 7 and 8, the Brainstorm team have visited Terra Sancta to send some very important messages to our Year 9 and 10 students.

Year 9 went on an emotional roller coaster during the “Cheap Thrills” performance as the lead character experiences the consequences of drugs, alcohol and risky behaviour. Although there were laughs and many funny moments throughout the play, the students left with a deep understanding of how their choice of friends and their ability to make good decisions has a dramatic and lasting effect on their lives.

Year 10 experienced a confronting play called “Wired”, which highlighted the causes and effects of stress and depression associated with exams, relationships and everyday life. The performance involved two adolescents with extremes of behaviour, metabolism, hormones, goals and perspectives that were spiralling out of control in different directions - one into stress and overload, the other into depression.

Throughout the play the characters’ paths cross and Year 10 had the opportunity to watch the characters take alternative options. Coming up to a very important time in their school life as they prepare to begin Year 11 and HSC study, this performance showed the students the impact of making proactive and positive actions, accepting help from others and handling stress, pressures and depression the right way.

Brainstorm Productions have played a very important role in the College Learning Enrichment Program as they continue sharing very important messages to our students that bring about positive social change through a range of bullying, cyber bullying and positive behaviour programs.
