Ash Wednesday at Terra Sancta College commenced with Mass at Mary Immaculate Parish.
We joined staff and students from Mary Immaculate Primary School and staff from St Josephs. Our SRC were commissioned by Fr Ruben to distribute ashes in each classroom.
Fr Ruben impressed on the students the importance of sacrifice. He told a story of his relationship with his mother and how she encourage him to be generous to others while being accepting of the generosity of others. During the bus trip back to TSC with Mr Kelly and Mr Feeney, the students learnt about the importance of religious leadership and the responsibility of the Cross.
During the liturgy each person stood up in solidarity with all peoples around the world who are suffering poverty and oppression so that together we make a sacrifice during Lent to give generously.
