St John Paul II Catholic College proudly celebrated its 30th Anniversary this year with a Mass at St Patrick’s Cathedral, followed by a morning tea for former staff members, past Principals and community dignitaries.
The celebration provided a meaningful opportunity to honour the leaders, dedicated staff, families and students who have contributed to the life and spirit of the College community over the past three decades. During the Mass, Bishop Vincent Long Van Nguyen reminded those gathered that Catholic schools are not simply places where knowledge is taught, but places where young people are formed and transformed in Christ.
Pope John Paul II had a profound love for young people and a deep belief in the power of education. He often reminded educators that Catholic schools play a vital role in the lives of young people by helping them discover meaning and purpose. His message continues to resonate strongly within the College today.
Each day in our classrooms, on the sporting fields, in creative spaces and through prayer, the College community strives to nurture young people who are compassionate, courageous and committed to making a positive difference in the world.
