🌟 Outstanding Success at Blacktown Big Ideas! 🌟 Congratulations to all of our students who represented the College at the Blacktown Big Ideas Grand Final on Wednesday. Of the nine finalist teams, an incredible five teams were from St John Paul II Catholic College, showcasing the creativity, innovation, and talent of our students. 🏆 1st Place – Cool Connect Parth, Wajid, Gurmandeep and Shlok (Years 8 & 10) 🥈 2nd Place – Urban Burst Evania, Jenny, Navya and Trisha (Year 9) 🎉 Most Unique and Innovative Festival Design Award Ayden, Geetha and Millie (Years 7 & 8), recognised for their outstanding festival concept developed for Blacktown City Council. We are incredibly proud of all students who participated and represented the College with excellence. Their innovation, teamwork, and problem-solving skills were on full display throughout the competition. Well done to everyone involved! 👏👏👏

✨ HSC Showcase 2025 – Young Writers ✨ A proud moment for our College community! Congratulations to Isabella (HSC Class of 2025), whose English Extension 2 Major Work, The Reader’s Symptom, was proudly featured in the prestigious Young Writers 2025 collection. Last week, Isabella was officially presented with her published work, marking an incredible milestone in her writing journey. Young Writers showcases outstanding English Extension 2 Major Works from students across NSW and celebrates exceptional creativity, originality and literary talent. Chosen from some of the state's finest HSC works, Isabella’s thought-provoking piece explores literature, interpretation and the value of embracing uncertainty. Her selection is a remarkable achievement and a testament to her dedication, creativity, critical thinking and passion for writing, supported by the expert guidance and mentorship of her English Extension 2 teacher throughout the development of her major work. National Reconciliation Week is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements, and to explore how each of us can contribute to achieving reconciliation in Australia. We remember and acknowledge the mistreatment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people who were forcibly removed from their families and communities. On Wednesday, our First Nation students, College staff alongside precinct staff and students gathered for the Nirimba Education Precinct Ceremony for National Reconciliation Week. Our Year 10 Child Studies students have been exploring the importance of children and play through hands-on learning experiences. 🎨🧸 Students planned, created, and actively engaged in a range of playgroup activities, developing their understanding of how play supports children’s learning and development. From craft and painting to interactive games and creative activities, there was plenty of fun, laughter, and learning along the way! Well done to our students for their creativity, teamwork, and enthusiasm throughout the project. 🌟

Our students recently participated in the I Love Maths Industry Challenge Day at Nirimba TAFE, where they explored how maths is used in real-world industries. Working in teams, students completed hands-on challenges in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Carpentry, and Bricklaying, earning points for accuracy, speed, and teamwork while applying practical mathematical skills.
