Year 10s wrapped up Term 3 with their first ThinkQuest Projects with some incredible presentations! ππΈ π‘ Students showcased ideas like: ~ Carbon Neutral Catapult designs ~ A pollution-fighting CleanBot ~ Real-time RoadWatch technology π They also looked ahead to the future with 2040 World Health Solutions, sharing innovations such as Earf-Bot and AmbuCare, focused on mental health and elderly care. π§ Our Lego Engineering students wowed us too β building spaghetti bridges and recreating impressive structures including Notre Dame, the Mars Rover, NASAβs Shuttle Carrier, and a motorised lighthouse. π Well done to all groups for their creativity, teamwork, and big-picture thinking!

Congratulations to our students who represented St John Paul II Catholic College in the Orbispace Pitch for the Planet competition last Thursday! π±π Throughout Term 3, students worked tirelessly in their own time and during class to research and design an innovative solution tackling the urban heat island effect. Their creativity and dedication shone through as they pitched their idea to real industry investors, impressing the judging panel and earning full marks from several judges along with high commendations from Orbispace founder Anna Grace. We are incredibly proud of their innovation, teamwork, and commitment to building a more sustainable future.πΏπ

A group of debaters attended the University of Sydney as part of its Women and Gender Minority Debate Day. It was a fast-paced event, moving from one debate to the next, and facing a new school each time. We were able to explore complex topics that deepened our appreciation of various political movements and how we engage with media. It was great to debate other schools and learn a new style of debating. We hope to take these new skills and ideas into next year's season! ~ Siobhan M (Year 10 Debater)
