2026 Berg Shield ๐ Yesterday in the Berg Shield Semi Final, our students batted first and posted an impressive 149 from 20 overs, with Parth (53) and Jeyaan (57) leading the way. Xavier College Albury were bowled out for 95, thanks to outstanding bowling from Aleena (3/18) and Om (3/10). In the Grand Final against St Johnโs Woodlawn, St JPII again won the toss and batted first, finishing on 120. Parth (37) and Jeyaan (29) were our top scorers, while Om claimed 3/13 with the ball. Woodlawn reached the target in the 19th over. An incredible achievement to reach the Grand Final, we are so proud of this team and their efforts throughout the competition! ๐๐

Today, 16 of our Year 7 & 8 students proudly represented our College at the Regional Da Vinci Decathlon, competing against 20 other schools. Working collaboratively, they tackled a challenging series of 10 tests across multiple academic domains, demonstrating teamwork, perseverance, and outstanding problem-solving skills. Congratulations to all of our students for their hard work, dedication, and the way they supported one another throughout the day, we are so proud of you all! ๐๐ A special congratulations to our incredible Year 8 team, who won the regional competition and will now be heading to State! We wish them the very best as they prepare for the next stage. Today we celebrated Ash Wednesday, marking the beginning of Lent and the launch of Project Compassion for 2025. ๐ Lent prepares us for the season of Easter, the most important time in the Churchโs calendar. By praying, fasting and giving alms, we are reminded of Jesusโ death and resurrection. Jesus brought the promise of hope to all people so that we may โHave life and have it to the full.โ (John 10:10) As we live into that fullness, may we also be challenged to act with love and hope, now and for all future generations.

โ Cool Down for a Cause โ Zooper Doopers on Sale! ๐ On Tuesday 17 February, Year 7 students will attend Reflection Day at our Nirimba Campus, where Zooper Doopers will be available for purchase during break 2 outside the Nirimba Hall. Seniors and Year 7 students are invited to take a break, cool down and enjoy a refreshing treat with friends. All proceeds will support Project Compassion, offering a meaningful opportunity to reflect on and support those in need within our wider community. Zooper Doopers are $1 each, with EFTPOS available on the day.
