Our pilgrimage begins in Mexico City after 2 flights across 2 time zones and 30 hours of travel time in transit.
After a night rest we travelled from Mexico City to the town of Puebla where we would spend the next 2 days and encounter some pretty special experiences.
First stop in Puebla is mass at Sta. Maria Tonantzintla - here we meet our volunteers who would be taking care of us before celebrating mass in this beautiful chapel!
From here we had lunch before scaling an old pyramid to reach the chapel of Our Lady of Remedies.
Our next day begins with a prayer in a beautiful chapel in the city of Puebla before we split up into groups to our separate ministry visits.
This was a very special and unique encounter for all, having the chance to sing, dance, play and chat with students from very different, yet similar cultures.
Afterwards we headed to one of the Major Seminaries in the city of Puebla for mass and a fiesta filled with traditional dancing, a surprise mariachi band and of course, lots of authentic Mexican food, prepared and served by the seminarians themselves.
It was a sad farewell at the end of the evening as we said goodbye (or rather, see ya later) to our volunteers.

Our Year 7s had a blast last week fitting the solar system in our school oval on a beautiful autumn day. ☀️ Sun = 1 metre wide 📏 1 metre = 1 AU (Distance from Earth to Sun) Inner Planets: Literally huddling for warmth next to the Sun. ☀️🔥 Jupiter & Beyond: We wish we had a drone to show how much further apart they are! 🛸💨 We had the Earth 1m away from the Sun and Pluto far away at 39m. This week Year 12 Biology took a deep dive into Genetic Engineering and Infectious and Non-infectious disease at the UNSW Museum of Human Disease. Students were able to interact with lead staff to apply their Biological knowledge to real life scenarios.

As part of a new pilot program, students at St John Paul II Catholic College are working with a small group of Year 5 students from St Joseph's Primary School Schofields to mentor them in Agriculture. At the Hawkesbury Show, for the first time, two Year 5 students joined us to assist with showing sheep. All students are to be commended for their hard work. We look forward to working with St Joseph's Primary School again. Well done to these students, who competed against high school students in their very first event. 🤩
