In allocated groups, Year 10 students will create a Google Site for the decade/s or year/s within the song that they will be allocated. Over 5 weeks students will complete a range of activities
Throughout the project, each group will be allocated to attend the following THREE workshops to assist them in the process:
1. Google Sites Workshop
2. Writing & Recording Verses Workshop
3. Information & Popular Culture Workshop
Each group will be allocated a Teacher Supervisor who they will share the site with once it is created.
Each Google Site, for each decade needs to include the following pages:
TWO VERSES one for the 1990s and one for the 2000s written and recorded by the group. In order to complete this, groups are to research and create a list of key events and personalities for each decade. They are then to use the song to develop the two new verses. Students are then to record the verses, using the instrumental version of the song. Recordings can be audio and/or video and must include the chorus and the following :
A TIMELINE of ALL the events/personalities for the allocated decade/year and for the events/personalities from the 1990s and 200s verses which includes specific dates and images
At least FOUR INFORMATION PAGES on key events/personalities from the
allocated decade/year including images, key points in dot form etc.
At least TWO additional POPULAR CULTURE PAGES that include information and images for the decade/year allocated. One page must cover ENTERTAINMENT including music, movies, theatre, sports etc and the other page must cover LIFESTYLE including clothing, hairstyles, food, housing etc.
All of the above pages need to link to the homepage which should be the timeline.
A list of ten trivia questions with answers must be emailed to Miss O'Neill by the end of Week 5 for the Trivia Afternoon in week 6. All answers must be able to be found on your website
All pages should be professionally presented and include headings, images, dot point information and may also include appropriate videos and audio that should be added according to copyright. Think about what makes something an attractive and interesting website, be creative and take pride in the site you produce. An example of this might be to make your timeline interactive by making the pictures you use the links to your information pages OR find and create your own short movies instead of large bulks of information and add these to the site using the Google Drive.
