TSC Masterchef

In week 8 of Term 2, students from Years 7-10 came together in the gathering area at the Schofields Campus for a TAS (Technology and Applied Studies) focused assembly.

The assembly included fun, games and education around subjects such as Food Technology and Agriculture.

The Year 7 Food Technology worked hard in baking their finest muffins for the big Terra Sancta College Masterchef Competition! Guest judges Ms. Noney, Mr. Green and Mr. Mc Bride sat before the students to taste test a great range of muffins, healthy, sweet, savoury and more. The judges attempted to mirror the professional judges from the official Masterchef with criticisms such as “the coconut is superb” (Mr. Green) and “texture is moist” (Mr. Mc Bride).

It was then Agriculture’s time to shine in the gathering area with some trivia and education around the chickens and other animals who live at Terra Sancta College. After a few interesting facts and an update on the relationships between the Terra Sancta chickens, the students had the chance to meet the chickens themselves! Miss Idone and her students proudly paraded around the gathering area, showcasing the amazing range of species of chickens that live at the College.

Following the theme, students also had the chance to play chicken related games. Forget “heads and tails” … at this assembly it was “chicken or the egg”! Everyone had a laugh as students pretended to be chickens in the fast paced “chicken or the egg” game. The situation got a little messier when the egg and spoon races begun, but the students had a ball practicing their skills, learning about agriculture and cheering on their peers.
