TSC Swimming Carnival

Terra Sancta held their annual swimming carnival on Monday, February 17 on what started out as looking like a pretty wet day.

However, this didn’t deter any students or parents and caregivers attending, as we had record numbers for all on the day and eventually the skies cleared for an excellent day of swimming

This year we had the entire Year 7 and Year 8 students attend as well as competitors in Years 9 to 12 which created a great atmosphere for the day.

The carnival started out with the 50m Freestyle event which saw our students flood to the marshalling area to compete and earn house points for their house. This year we had the introduction of our house captains who showed a lot of house spirit by getting the students cheering and singing for their team mates.

We then moved through the other swimming strokes and the 100m Freestyle event which saw our promising swimmers like Matthew Wilcox and Samantha Poullos excel.

We finished the day with a house vs house team relay event which saw 8 swimmers in each event compete in an 8x50m Freestyle relay, Locke showed everyone why they were the house to beat on the day.

The house results on the day were as follows:

  1. Locke - 341
  2. Brady - 172
  3. Cross - 160
  4. Therry - 19

Well done to Locke on a convincing win and a big thank you to all of the students who participated and all the parents and caregivers who came to cheer on their son and or daughter.
