Congratulations to 8 of our Year 12 students who today graduated from the Western Sydney University Academic Access Program, which provides motivated students with a unique opportunity to undertake early university study. Each of our amazing students was awarded a $20,000 scholarship and early university offers.

The Western Sydney University Academy Access Scholarship aims to recognise and reward high performing undergraduate students in order to support their studies and enable both intellectual development and personal growth. These outstanding students will have access to excellent training, academic extension, personal development, enriched community engagement and focused support resources. This opportunity is made possible through partnerships between St John Paul II Catholic College, Wyndham College, and Western Sydney University (WSU).

An agreement between these partners allows up to 20 students each year from the Nirimba schools to gain sponsored enrolment at WSU/WSU The College. Students who successfully complete a unit are able to gain an early offer of enrolment into most WSU courses on the completion of their HSC. Students may also become eligible for the award of a substantial scholarship as a result of successful completion of these units. The 20 available places are allocated to the schools on the basis of their total year 11 and 12 enrolments.

Students gain entry to the program via recommendations made by the Principals and staff of the schools, although WSU/ has final choice.

As part of the scholarship students receive a $500 one-off payment in their HSC year and any student attainting a high distinction or distinction qualifies for a $20,000 scholarship. If the student receives a credit or pass, they still receive an early offer to WSU.
