IMPORTANT MESSAGE: Safe People, Safe Places

We have been made aware that police have launched investigating after a 12-year-old boy was approached at Dural after school earlier this week.

 

Two men in a black four-door car gestured for the child to come over but the child ran back to the bus stop and contacted his father, who reported the incident to police.

 

The first man is described as Caucasian, around 40 years of age, with a bald head.

The second man is described as having a dark complexion with a bald head.

The vehicle is described as possibly being an early model Holden Commodore.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Castle Hill Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.

 

Please have a conversation with your child about this and reinforce the Safe People, Safe Places’ messages. These messages include:

 

  • Make sure your parents or another adult you know knows where you are at all times.

  • Always walk straight home or to the place you are walking to. Walk near busier roads and streets, or use paths where there are lots of other people.

  • Know where safe places are – a shop, service station, police station, library or school. If you are ever frightened, you should go to one of these places and ask them to call the police.

  • Learn about safe adults you can look for and talk to if you need help – police officers, teachers at school, adults you know and trust.

  • Don’t talk to people you don’t know and never get into a car with someone you don’t know. If a car stops on the side of the road and you don’t know the person inside, do not stop.

  • If you are scared and can use a phone, call 000 and tell them you are scared.

  • If someone tries to grab you, yell out, ‘Go away, I don’t know you’. This lets other people know you have been approached by someone you don’t know.

Term 2 School Fees Reminder

Dear Parents/Caregivers,

Just a reminder that Term 2 fees were posted out on Monday, 1 May 2017 and fall due/payable by Monday, 29 May 2017. Please contact Jean Webb on 9208-7239 if you have not received your statement.

REMINDER: Please complete the StJPII survey by tomorrow! (Current families only)

This is a friendly reminder for each current StJPII family to please complete our "Keep in the Loop" survey by tomorrow! 
 
We have had 260 of 850 families complete the survey so far and we would greatly appreciate your contribution, as we can then truely gain a greater understanding of our College community and bring improvements as a result.

Survey for StJPII Parents/Caregivers to Complete: Keep in the Loop with StJPII

Communication between parents/caregivers, teachers and students is crucial to ensuring a student’s education and wellbeing is at its best. Whilst we provide ways for you to ‘keep in the loop’ with StJPII, we would also like to ‘keep in the loop’ with you!  
 
As valued members of the College, we would greatly appreciate it if one parent/caregiver from each family could please take a short amount of time to complete a survey and assist us making improvements and work towards providing the best experience and education for both you and your family
You may choose to complete the survey online at the link below or complete the printed survey that you will receive in the post over the next few days and return it to our College Office by Friday, 12 May.
 
 
Survey responses remain anonymous, but we do invite you to leave your details at the conclusion of the survey if you wish for us to contact you regarding your responses.

StJPII Newsletter Now Available to Download

The last newsletter for Term 1 includes important information around student immunisation programs, careers, counselling, new videos, sports achievements and all the latest in learning and teaching at the College! Click here to download Newsletter Term 1 Issue 3.

The Term 2 Calendar of Events is also now available to download.

Term 2 commences for ALL students on Wednesday, 26 April (Week A timetable).

The College Office is open during the school holidays, Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 3.30pm (except pubic holidays), for any enquiries or enrolment applications. Applications for 2018 are required to be submitted by Monday, 24 April.

Finally, we invite everyone in the StJPII community to join us at the Riverstone - Schofields ANZAC Day march and dawn service on Tuesday, 25 April (Click here for details).

Year 7 2018 Enrolment Applications Due 24 April

We are now taking enrolments for Year 7 2018!

Enrolment applications are required to be submitted to the College by Monday, 24 April.

Contact the College Office on 9208 7200 or complete an Expression of Interest Form to have an Enrolment Pack posted to your home. Alternatively, you can pick up an Enrolment Pack from our Schofields Office during office hours.

Enrolments can be submitted at the College Office Monday to Friday, 7.30am - 3.30pm and yes, we are open during the school holidays!

If you missed out on our Open Evening and would like to organise a personal tour of the campus, please feel free to contact us.

REMINDER: All requests for leave from school must be in writing PRIOR to the leave

StJPII would like to remind all parents/caregivers that ALL requests for leave must be in writing PRIOR to the leave via email or note.

SMS responses are ONLY used for sickness or emergencies where prior notice could not be given.

Leave applications can be found under Administration in School Notes.

Further information regarding leave from school can be found under "Communication with the School" in the College Handbook.

Schofields Campus Student Drop Off/Pick Up Zone Changes

The Schofields Campus has recently upgraded the student drop off/pick up zone! The drop off zone for our Schofields Campus is located next to the College at Rose Cottage and now has a separate entry drive way and exit driveway.

Although there is some signage, we are looking to improve the signage in these areas to assist with the easy flow of traffic. We ask that parents/caregivers dropping off or picking up students please use the new entry and exit driveways as shown in the image below.

Reminder: Please Label All Belongings Brought to School

The staff at the College Office would like to remind students and parents/caregivers to please label all belongings that are brought to school so that lost property can be returned to the correct students. 

This includes uniforms, devices, stationary, sports equipment and any other important items. 

 If your child has lost any of their belonging, please advise them to visit the College Office to look at what has been handed into lost property.
